Michael Jacksons död innebar ett rejält upplyft för försäljningen av hans skivor. När 2009 är slut kan popkungens skivförsäljning under året summeras med inte mindre än 25 miljoner sålda skivor. Jackson blev därmed den artist som sålde mest skivor av alla i världen under året.
